In 1959, China emerged as the Men’s single Table Tennis World Champion for the 1st time and the whole nation was rejoiced.

Although founder Pek Kim Ou was in Singapore, he was still very patriotic towards his homeland, and was inspired to develop a new blend of tea to commemorate the occasion.

The “Ping Pong Champion Tie Guanyin” was thus born to congratulate China for the success, as well as to express his well wishes for many more championships to come.

1959年，中国男单在世界乒乓大赛中勇夺金牌，一时全国沸腾。世界冠军一词是新中国体育史上前所未有的荣誉 。
